Eclipses are extra potent New or Full Moons!
They signal what we need to change. A Solar Eclipse usually occurs twice a year at a New Moon, so it shows the completion of one cycle and the beginning of the next.
The eclipses in 2011 are in the signs of Sagittarius (north node) and Gemini (south node).
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and is the sign of Vision, understanding, faith, hope and higher knowledge, which is left brain intuition.
It contrasts vividly with the Mercurial energy of Gemini – curiosity, information, communication, which is more right brain logic.
The November 25th Solar Eclipse has 4 planets and the North Node in Sagittarius and Mercury goes retrograde a day before. We are being asked to integrate left and right brain, to balance the masculine and feminine within.
On June 15th the lunar eclipse focused us on the Galactic Centre which is currently at 26 degrees Sagittarius. This is a gateway or portal to the messages coming from the heart of our Galaxy. At this November Solar Eclipse Venus opens that portal once more.
If you have a planet or angle at the same degree as an eclipse, it will mean a big change in that area of your life. Change isn’t always a bad thing!

Vedic View
In Vedic astrology the north and south nodes of the moon are called Rahu and Ketu and are known as shadow planets. They form when the earth moves into position in relationship to the sun and moon, and casts a shadow. They can block out the light of the Sun or Moon.
When an eclipse is next to Ketu which is a spiritual energy, it can indicate access to past life and occult knowledge. Vedic astrologer Christina Collins says that the recommendation during eclipses is to stay inside, fast, do sadhana (spiritual practices as a goal towards realization), and to meditate.
