NEW MOON 28 October: Sun and Moon at 5 degrees Scorpio 11.14pm GMT
FULL MOON November 13th: Sun 21 degrees Scorpio, Moon 21 degrees Taurus at 6.19am GMT

It came and it went. The first of 5 oppositions of Saturn (the old timer) to Uranus (the newcomer). And Uranus won!

I have been talking about this major oppostion over the last few months. Other astrologers were predicting the kind of election that happened in 2000 when Al Gore was cheated out of his win.

As astrologers we look at cycles and we look back at history. The last opposition of Saturn with Uranus in the signs of Pisces and Virgo was on Jan 6th 1967. The following year saw the assassinations of Rev Martin Luther King (age 39) on April 4, 1968 and Robert Kennedy (age 43) on June 5, 1968. Both were at midlife so personally tuned in to this opposition. This was the time of riots in the major cities despite President Johnson's attempts to introduce anti-poverty and anti-discrimination legislation, and there was major opposition to the war in Vietnam.

The astrology of 1967 involved both Pluto and Chiron in this opposition. Pluto rules power and governs the secret services, the Mafia and The Underworld. Chiron is the Wounded Healer. Conspiracies are spawned with Plutonic energy.

Now we are in different times.

Pluto is nearing the end of its 13 year tour of Sagittarius and Jupiter is making a trine (good) aspect to Saturn. The success of Senator Barack Obama represents the dawn of a new era. This is Uranus acting in the best way possible. This is the peaceful revolution and the power of the people to have their voice heard. Uranus governs technology so the use of the Internet - to raise funds and the blog - to connect people and spread information fast - helped Obama's campaign.

Obama's Chart
Obama has strong Saturnian energy -which is what we want to see in a statesman. His campaign was long lasting and determined. There are lessons to be learnt from him. Never giving up being the most important. Barack Obama was born on August 4th 1961. He's a Leo - the natural sign of charisma and a man with a brave heart. He has his Moon in Gemini - the sign of a natural communicator. Gemini is a light hearted sign and gives humour and quick wit, a skill with language and words. His Saturn is well placed in Capricorn so he is a true statesman with wisdom and gravitas. His likeability comes from Gemini and also Venus in the sign of Cancer- he can empathise with women and loves his family and children. The USA is a Cancerian country so the President has to have at least one planet in that sign.

The Uranian characteristics come from his Aquarian ascendant, Jupiter is the sign of Aquarius and the close proximity of Uranus with his Destiny point. This is a man who thrives on change and has creative genius. Jupiter is the planet of faith. Obama believes in the human race - in equality and the brotherhood of man. This is most auspicious for a leader of the USA.

There is good reason to celebrate - to have hope for the future.

This month's Full Moon
As we approach the Full Moon on Nov 13th (6.19am) there are some excellent transits and opportunities opening up.

Full Moons represent fulfillment and harvest time. This Full Moon sees Jupiter - the planet of optimism -making a sextile to Uranus and a trine to Saturn. This is very fortunate so if you have a planet at 17-20 degrees of the earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo) or water signs (Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio) your luck is in. This is worth a flutter on the Lottery!

It's also a time to make new goals that truly inspire you- for practicality and originality to unite. I suggest getting together with 2 like-minded friends. 3 is the communication number and this earth trine wants us to talk money and business. Its a time to ground ourselves by connecting with our inner divine core rather than outer material resources.

You are the most important person in your life. Its time to invest in yourself.

Tarot - A Month Of Rebirth
Scorpio's ruler is Pluto represented by 'The Judgement' card in the tarot.

This card was chosen in my last 'Healing Your Birth Story' workshop as part of a process. It's extremely interesting because it has the Archangel Gabriel - the angel who announces birth- blowing his trumpet to awaken the dead. This is a card of regeneration and resurrection. It's the Spiritual Awakening and rebirth.

With the amount of fear being propagated in the news at this time it is fitting that we are being asked to awaken to the real world -the world of Spirit. This card represents the death of obsolete structures. The old ways must die so the resurrection can take place.

This card is very relevant to the astrology of this month. The structures of our lives (Saturn) need re examining and change (Uranus) must take place. Scorpio (Pluto) says 'sort out your stuff' - eliminate old rubbish.

Complete old projects or let them go and move on - otherwise they will drain you of vital energy. Blow your own trumpet -You Are A Star who has come to shine!
