So it came and the result was amazing. The the first of 5 oppositions of Saturn (the old timer) to Uranus (the newcomer). I have been talking about this in my last newsletters. Focus on the future - create something new
The most important transit of the year (and a taste of things to come in 2009) occurs on November 4th - which just happens to be the day of the US elections. This is the opposition of Uranus to Saturn in the signs of Pisces and Virgo. It only happens every 45 years so is comparatively rare.

Open to the Cosmic Magic - Full Moon and Uranus
The outer planets -which represent the collective unconscious- are once more connected to the vibration of this full moon in Pisces. The outer planet most directly involved with the full moon is Uranus. This is the cosmic wild card, The Fool in the tarot. Anything can happen, so astrologers always say "expect the unexpected". It rules accidents and electrical storms, such as Hurricane Ike.

Uranus is the original Creator God and is the higher octave of Mercury the Messenger. Its our intuition, that impulse of genius that comes out of the blue, our highest creative principle. Uranus is a lightening flash which can either a shock or thrill.

Time to take a magical leap into your future
As we pray for an Indian Summer there is some good news coming as the planetary weather is really changing and its improving!

August has been a difficult month with two eclipses which always signify turbulence and sudden change.

The Olympics in Beijing summed up the power of Ketu which is eclipse energy. The magical opening ceremony was awesome. China has a Libran Sun and an Aquarian Moon. These was evident in the beauty of the pageant and by the stunning teamwork of the thousands of drummers and performers throughout. Aug/Sept Newsletter

August Eclipses
The day of an eclipse is always a time of going within, a spiritual time when the day is perfect for meditation and asking for the truth.

Eclipses are not a time to start a new venture as the 'lights' - the Sun and Moon - are temporarily out.

Sun in Leo - A time to play
This is the time of year when the sun should be shining, school's out and its time for celebration and a holiday. So what's the planetary picture saying?

GOOD NEWS
Jupiter is moving retrograde to make an excellent harmonious alignment to Mars on 26th. Then it forms a similar angle (a trine or flow of energy) to Saturn on September 8th. Jupiter is the Wheel of Fortune in the tarot and is a planet that represents good luck, abundance and our purpose in the world. Jupiter is in the sign of Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn, the planet of hard work, achievement and commitment. That's why we have an economic recession. We are also being asked to get disciplined and step up into maturity.

What message are you hearing?
What message are you sending out?
We are now in the astrological month of Gemini ruled by Mercury, the Messenger. We've been going through a roller coaster of a month in May as so many planets changed direction. Retrograde means turning backward and all the words that have 're' apply to this process. It's a time of revision, renewing, reworking, reflection.

I liken it to a car driving along a road then stopping, reversing and then stopping again. As we reverse we need to look back. We travel over the same piece of road 3 times so on the final pass we know it well. We've seen things we might not have seen the first time as we travelled so fast. This especially applies to Mercury, the messenger planet. So back up your computer, check all travel arrangements and keep patient as delays are very likely during this period. May/June newsletter

Where are you heading? What are you initiating?
A new moon acts like the seed for the month. A time of planting the thought, the concept. Spring is the time to set a goal. Be passionate about this goal, let it consume you! Be focused. Aim straight. I started this newsletter at the beginning of April. Now we are almost at the end. It's been a month of very high activity for me because the energy of Mars was highly significant at the Aries New Moon on April 6th. It started the burst of energy necessary to focus on a single goal. April/May Newsletter

March Full Moon
The Cardinal Cross and Rebirth
As the Sun moves into the sign of Aries we mark a turning point in the year. It is the Astrological New Year and the chart for this Equinox is powerful. The days and nights are of equal length. This is a solar celebration that happens on the same day every year. As Jonathan Cainer points out on his website:-

"Unusually, though, there's a Full Moon too. Auspicious, powerful alignments insist that, whether you're celebrating (and despite all the gloom in the news) we'll all have something to celebrate soon."

New Moon in Pisces- What are you absorbing?
A new moon acts like the seed for the month. A time of planting the thought, the concept. It's as if the planet itself has an intake of breath. This is inspiration time. For 3 days and nights the moon is invisible as it lies within the Sun, as if in the womb. It is taking in the energy of the Sun, our biggest Star. Its a time when new concepts can be conceived, new ideas can be born.

Uranus
This New Moon on March 7th is in Pisces and unites with Uranus, the planet of change and revolution. Uranus is also the Higher Mind so we are tuned into this energy all month until the next New Moon. Uranus is The Genius, The Magician and rules the aura, so if you have any planet at 16-18 degrees be aware of cleansing any negative energy. March Newsletter

Eclipse New Moon in Aquarius- A portal opens
The eclipse on February 7th is a portal – a gateway which is opening for the first time in 18 years in the sign of Aquarius.
Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius until 19th February. It stays in Aquarius from 8th January until15th March. Focus on co-operation, partnering with a group or teamwork.

A Year to bring heaven down to earth
There are many sacred times in the year when ritual becomes more important than usual. One such time is this weekend- 12th Night January 5th. This is the time when the Three Wise men, (the Magi or Kings) came bringing gifts to the new born baby Jesus. These wise men were astrologers/astronomers who were following the star.

Astrologers calculate that this 'star' was the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. These two planets that are visible with the naked eye which joined in the sign of Pisces in 0007BC. Since Christianity uses the two fishes as its symbol they postulate that Jesus was born in that year. There are several birth charts for Jesus in existence, none are Dec 25th! January Newsletter
