Dear [fname],
Spring has begun and the Sun is passing through the sign of Aries. This is the season of birth of nature, of the goddess returning.

The astrological New Year began at the Spring Equinox on March 20th. This is the day when day and night are equal as the Sun is overhead at the equator. The Sun was at 0 degrees Aries of the tropical zodiac. This month both Venus and then Mars will arrive at this same point. This is known as the Aries point as it is where we can make an impact on the world. Mars crossing this point stimulates energetic new beginnings, Venus a new beginning for love.

Pluto's Realm -Sex, Death, Money and Power
The New Moon in Aries on March 26th represented the seed of this month. In that chart, Pluto makes a bold statement by the challenging aspect of 90 degrees, a right angle to the New Moon, Sun, Mercury and Venus.
By the end of the month (26th) Mars make the same difficult aspect to Pluto. This is a confrontation that can be uncomfortable or deeply healing -it depends on our willingness to surrender. This is a month of the Hero's initiation.

A square is a crisis, a turning point. Either we carry on regardless or we change. The world is facing a chronic problem of independence, of a game of win/lose. So change is now being forced upon us and resistance -as the saying goes- is futile.

Over the next six months each new moon will be strongly influenced by Pluto.
So we would be well advised to listen to what he's telling us. Pluto is the God of the Underworld, however he doesn't rule death (that's Saturn's role), but transformation and resurrection as seen in the tarot card of Judgement. The catch is, he's now in Saturn's sign of Capricorn, so there have to be endings. But the intention is that pruning allows new growth can come. Just like the phoenix  -which is one of the symbols of Scorpio -we can rise from the ashes.

Gordon Brown (UK's Prime Minister) said we were going through a birth process and he was right. Collectively we are all on a journey into the underworld, but there is a way out. In mythology Mercury is the God who can enter and leave Pluto's realm at will and Mercury is both a messenger and guide. In the tarot Mercury is The Magician and there we have a clue to the answer. We need to invoke some magic - to ask for a miracle in our lives. We need connection with our Higher Mind and we need guidance. The major healing process is Letting Go of all failures, our mistakes and our guilt. As a result we reclaim our power.

Will Power and Intention
Before any project begins we need to set our intention- our goal. This is also true of any communication. Without intention we have no direction. Mars is in the water sign of Pisces until April 23rd so be gentle with yourself if you still feel at sea and confused at this time. Be aware that Pisces is the sign of two fishes going in opposite direction. They are however pointing one to heaven and one to earth. This is a time of gathering valuable information from our inner world.

Part 1: Gathering and Preparing
Before we start out on our journey we need to prepare. This usually means some training, and getting to know the territory. Maps are pretty essential.
The best map I know is the astrology map, the birth chart. I use it combined with the Psychology of Vision map of the mind called The Triangle.

An excellent way to explore our inner world is by the use of tarot cards. They are tools of divination, which means to connect with the Divine within us. I recommend 'The Rider Waite' pack and 'The Voyager Tarot' as a modern deck. See below for link to choose a card for the day.

Invoke The Archetype of The Emperor
The Emperor is the tarot card for Aries. He is a sovereign of the earth with a divine right to rule. He is the 4th Major Arcana card - number 4 represents the foundation. April is the 4th month so now is the time to set our intention for what we want to manifest by the full moon, but also for the whole year.
Emperor is derived from the latin word 'parere' to beget, to give birth. The Emperor is the father, the sower of new seeds.

When we connect with our inner Emperor we connect with our power, stability and the challenges we wish to conquer. In the past the King was the Emperor and was believed to have divine powers of healing. When the King failed he was sacrificed. This is a time in history when we need to reclaim our power - to take back our Kingship and our authority. In other words to be the author of our lives.

Asking the Questions
Just some of the questions to ask now are:-
What do you want to give birth to?
What challenges do you want to conquer?
Who is your mentor?

Stage 2: Taking Action - Courage and Whole Heartedness
Mars joins Venus in late Pisces April 21st
Mars moves into Aries on April 23rd

For Mars and Venus to join is not an every day occurrence. Strange but true, Venus often eludes being captured by Mars. So this is a celebration, a joining of the masculine and feminine. For Mars to be imbued with the energy of Venus exalted in Pisces, the sign of compassion, is highly auspicious.

Then on April 23rd Mars enters Aries, his own sign. Mars takes two years to transit the 12 signs, so we don't get this opportunity every day. Which house of your chart is governed by Aries? This shows you in what area of your life you are starting your new cycle.

Courage comes from the word heart, so in order to take a risk and try something new, to begin again takes our whole heart. The biggest mistake we made in our lives is that when we started out as children we looked to our parents to make us happy -and then were woefully disappointed in them when they failed. ny grievances we have about them reflects on our success in life, in our finances and our relationships. Our childhood heartbreaks go deep, even if long forgotten the pain can get covered up so we are brave and strong, but wearing a suit of armour.

Winning our hearts back does take courage. The workshop on relationships in London on April 25th/26th called' Awaken to Love- Healing Family, Relationship and Ancestral Patterns' will focus on just this. A beautiful group of people are coming, would you like to join us?

Sabian Symbol - Integrating the True Masculine
I have recently been studying the Sabian symbols. They were intuited by a renowned psychic early in the last century and are profound and poetic.. There is a symbol for every degree of the zodiac and they can be used as a way to gain deeper understanding of the soul's purpose in the birth chart.

They can also be used as an oracle. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon in Aries is "A man succeeds in expressing himself simultaneously in two realms". This represents the birth of a new model for business and the world -one that integrates the physical with the spiritual.

The full moon on April 9th is "A young girl feeding birds in winter" speaks of overcoming crisis through compassion. the feminine is feeding her spiritual self as represented by the birds -messengers of the gods. Interestingly in Vedic astrology to feed birds on a Monday is a remedial measure to support the Moon in the birth chart. Read more from astrologer and author Lynda Hill who is a specialist in these symbols, link below.
