Dear friend,
We may be living through some difficult times, but May 2009 promises to be a magical month bringing great rays of hope and healing. This month we are witnessing a rare triple conjunction of the most benefic planets - Jupiter (faith and great good fortune) and Neptune (transcendence) with Chiron (the healer).

Theme of May: Rare triple conjunction

Jupiter conjuncts Neptune every 13 years but for Chiron to join with them is rare. Astrologers are united in seeing this as a positive alignment. However planets do not do anything - rather they are heavenly symbols, showing us what we need to focus on down here on planet earth.

Chiron is the Rainbow Bridge between Heaven and Earth
It is called this because it orbits between Saturn and Uranus, which represent the old versus the new. Plus Saturn is the traditional ruler of earth and is the last planet we can see with the naked eye. Uranus is the higher vibration of Mercury and represents the Higher Mind. These planets are opposing each other for the next 2 years. This is the breakdown and restructuring of the old systems by often shocking and disruptive events.

Chiron is part of the new paradigm for many reasons. One is that it isn't a planet but a new heavenly body called a centaur by astronomers. It has been used in astrology since it's discovery in 1977 and is associated with alternative medicine and the 'new age' movement. One powerful example of this is the publishing of 'A Course in Miracles' in 1976.

The Swine Flu Epidemic
In astrology Neptune is the planet connected with flu like illnesses. As it affects the lungs the psychological dynamic is grief. As an astrologer I have been trained to see patterns, and study cycles of time. I immediately Goggled the Great Flu Epidemic of 1918. Find out more at Wikipedia

Comparing the two astrology charts shows some astounding parallels. In 1918 Chiron was in Pisces and Uranus in Aquarius. Now these planets positions are reversed. Chiron is almost at the exact same degree of Aquarius that Uranus was then. Pluto (planet of the collective unconscious) was at 3 degrees of Cancer, now it's at 3 degrees of Capricorn - again the exact opposite. In April 1918 Saturn was at 4 degrees of Leo conjunct Neptune, in May 2009 the south node of the Moon (indicating past lives) is at the exact same place.

Grief and fear
All of this points to an expression of the collective grief and the need for healing. In 1918 the grief was about the huge loss of life, of the deaths of 50-70 million people. Now I would venture it's the loss of a dream, the collapse of the structures and institutions upon which we build society. This deeply shakes up our root chakra which represents our survival. Panic only makes it worse. When we are fearful we are ungrounded and leave our body. Remembering our spiritual connection keeps us safe.

My assessment after viewing it is that traditional medical methods are of little use in the face of a flu pandemic. Healing the collective begins with each individual. Not buying in to the fear, healing our personal stories and using alternative medicine such as flower and crystal essences and homeopathy is, I believe, the answer.

MAY 12th UPDATE
Its Mercury retrograde time (from May 7th until May 31st) and you might be experiencing frustrating delays and computers not working. Any type of communication can go wrong, so double check all meetings and transport arrangements.

As Mercury asks us to revise, to review and reassess I am changing the date and focus for my teleclass on Chiron from May 16th. As I feel into the energy of the triple conjunction of Chiron, Jupiter and Neptune I recognise the need to heal Neptunian issues.

Susan Boyle: Uplifting Inspiration
If you haven't heard of Susan Boyle or even if you have, then I urge you to listen now.  Every time I hear her on YouTube, I get tingles up my spine. This woman aged 48 totally wowed the audience and the judges on Britain's Got Talent and has since appeared on Oprah. This woman is an inspiration to us all. The song she sang 'I Dreamed a Dream' is pure Neptune.

She isn't a Pisces but has a difficult aspect between her Sun in Aries with Neptune.
