The New Moon on August 1st:
Solar eclipse at 9 degrees of Leo.
Full Moon on August 16th:
Lunar eclipse at 24 degrees of Aquarius.
The day of an eclipse is always a time of going within, a spiritual time when the day is perfect for meditation and asking for the truth.
Eclipses are not a time to start a new venture as the 'lights' - the Sun and Moon - are temporarily out.
Listen to your Heart's Desire
The Solar eclipse on August 1st is in the sign of Leo which is ruled by the Sun, a time of year of play and creativity. The Sun in our charts is the place where we shine and take on a leadership position.
Leo is the sign of self expression and just as the Sun is at the centre of our solar system, so the Sun is our personal centre around which all else revolves. Leo rules the heart, our vitality and inner core of strength. The Sun is the place where we become an individual. As Hamlet says:- "To thine own self be true."
The Solar eclipse asks us to look at our direction in life and our priorities. Stephanie Austin in The Mountain Astrologer writes:-
"As the Sun's light is blocked for a few minutes the normal flow of solar radiation is interrupted. Energetic matrixes are opened, reorganised and reconfigured creating new patterns and pathways."
This eclipse harkens back to July 30 2000 when the eclipse was at Leo at 8 degrees of Leo. What was important to you, what direction did your life take then?
Your Soul Intention
This eclipse will affect a whole generation of people who have Pluto in Leo (1939-1955) and those who have Uranus in Leo (1955-1962) so millions will feel some effect. Those who feel it acutely will have a planet at 9 degrees of any sign, so check your chart. (If you don't have your birth chart go to www.alabe.com
Referring to these soul groups Stephanie Austin writes:
"This eclipse activates their cellular memories of their mission and fears strongly (Pluto) as well as the need to break away from tradition and be an agent of change. (Uranus) "
Good News
Bernadette Brady writes in her ground breaking book 'The Eagle and the Lark' :-
"These eclipses are concerned with breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options. A worry that may have been affecting a person will suddenly clear up. The solution is shown by the Cosmos and needs to be taken up without too much delay."
August 16th Lunar Eclipse:- Dream Time
If the Sun symbolises our left logical brain then the Moon symbolises the right side where our intuitive nature resides. At the lunar eclipse we experience the full rays of the Moon directly. This is a time to relax into our right brain, the feminine energy of receiving where the answers come, not by doing, but by being. This is a time to listen to our dreams and our subconscious.
Let go of old past life habits
This is one powerful eclipse. The Moon joins Neptune, North Node of the Moon and Neptune. The Sun sits with the South Node (the past) so past life stories and ingrained habitual ways of behaving that no longer serve us may surface.
Deep Healing
The outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all are aspected by this eclipse so it has a transpersonal effect. A deep healing at the collective level is being called for. Our souls are yearning to be reunited with our soul group.
Mars squares Pluto at the eclipse creating a crisis around action, wealth and power. Mars when negative can result in uncontrolled is anger, frustration and reaction. Hold off making life changing decisions until August 20th.
On August 20th there is truth as the Sun iluminates and makes a positive trine Pluto spotlighting any beliefs that keep us stuck in the past and in the unconscious realm of the God of the Underworld.
The earth energies are strong with Jupiter in Capricorn connecting to Saturn, Mercury, Venus and Mars in Virgo. This is positive, we are being called to get down to business, to attend to our bodies and the material realm, to ground our vision and manifest our potential.
"The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities." James Allen
