February 2008
The eclipse on February 7th is a portal – a
gateway which is opening for the first time in 18
years in the sign of Aquarius.
Themes of the Month:-
The Outsider
The Wounded Healer
The Star
Astrological Event:-
February 7th: The New
Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius –start of
a new cycle.
February 21st: Full Moon
Lunar eclipse in Pisces/Virgo -the end of a cycle.
Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius
until 19th February. It stays in Aquarius from 8th
January until15th March. Focus on co-operation, partnering
with a group or teamwork.
Are you an Aquarian? Do you have Aquarian tendencies?
Do you belong to groups yet feel like an outsider?
Feel you’re left out and not included? Do you
resonate with Groucho Marx’s statement “I don't care to belong to
a club that accepts people like me as members.”
Aquarius is the sign that
connects us to humanity. As the 11th sign in the
zodiac it’s the last of
the three air signs (Gemini and Libra). All air signs
have the need to circulate and communicate. The last
three signs of the zodiac (Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces)
are concerned with the collective, so Aquarius needs
to express its views out into the world, to the community
at large.
This is the archetype of the Humanitarian
who believes in equality, fraternity and liberty- the
battle cry of The French Revolution. It believes in
fair play and sees the value of being part of a global
network – a
team.
However the rebel stands outside society and challenges
the status quo, which can be threatening for government
and any group to which the Aquarian belongs.
They can have a tendency toward
being deliberately contrary and reactionary which puts
a distance between them and others. They can use their
feeing of ‘being
different’ from others as a kind of superiority,
all the while feeling inferior inside.
They can be friendly and humanitarian,
honest and loyal, original and inventive, independent
and intellectual. However on the dark side.... they
are intractable and contrary, perverse and unpredictable,
unemotional and detached.
Famous Aquarians are John Travolta, Oprah Winfrey, Paul
Newman, James Dean, Germaine Greer, Mozart, Boris Yeltsin
and Matt Dillon.
Another
Aquarian was Rosa Louise Parks. Her action in
December 1955 was a small act of defiance, but Rosa Parks'
refusal, as a black woman, to give up her bus seat to
a white man, would change the course of American history. Her
arrest spawned the mass movement which culminated in
the 1964 Civil Rights Act and an end to segregation.
She was awarded the Congressional Medal of Freedom.
It’s
the sign of this age that we are moving into, where
one person can make a difference. Where our co-operation,
our courage and our inventiveness saves us from extinction.
Groups and persecution
However the memories of
being persecuted or rejected by
a group lies deep within the collective
psyche. If you have ever felt like ‘the Outsider’ then
you may well have Chiron or Saturn in the sign of Aquarius.
Or you may have Uranus strong in your birth chart. Independence
is positive in the sense of being able to be an individual
and self reliant, not if it means you do everything on
your own and ‘My Way’ is your favourite song.
This month we are being asked to join a team,
start new associations with a group we are in tune
with. To heal our differences and move toward partnering.
Eclipses
This
February the Solar eclipse at the new moon on 7th will
affect the soul groups who have the powerful outer
planets in Aquarius. This eclipse new moon has a stellium
(a line-up) of 6 planets in Aquarius, so it’s
really pushing a message home, loud and clear.
It starts a series of eclipses that last for the next
eighteen months in the sign of Aquarius and (later in
the year) through its opposite sign of Leo. Leo is the
individual, the heart of the lion and the heart of us;
our creativity and our children. Always in astrology
we are being asked to claim our opposite sign. Just as
Leo needs to learn to share with others, so Aquarians
need to learn to appreciate and value each person as
an individual.
Eclipses are life changing
- especially for those who have a personal planet in
their chart close to the eclipse degree. The
route they take over land can result in an earthquake
soon after.
“Eclipses not only
have gravitational affect on our bodies and planet
Earth, but they also affect the collective unconscious,
the grids, and in the astrological significance our
natal birth charts, as well as the charts of nations.
An eclipse seems to stop time, stop energy, and stop
movement.
Where once there was light filtering
through the elemental forces of the zodiac into the
Earth's aura, there is suddenly darkness, nothingness,
a temporary lack of input from the Sun or Moon that
serves to bring our awareness closer to the energy
of the Solar or Lunar season, and thus intensify
it. The energies of a solar eclipse create changes
on many levels as they represent letting go of the
old and embracing the new, destruction, balance and
a rebirth. Eclipse energy goes to
the eclipse of consciousness and therefore enhances
dreams, and other out of bodies experiences.” Quoted
from Earthlink website, see link below.
So we can view an eclipse
as a portal – a
gateway which is opening for the first time in 18 years
in the sign of Aquarius.
The Wounded Healer
At this time both Chiron (The Wounded Healer) and Neptune
(The Mystic) are transiting through Aquarius.
Do you have Chiron in Aquarius?
Its yes if you were born February 1955- 1st April 1960
or Sept 1960- Feb 1961. According
to Martin Lass in his book on Chiron:-
“The core wound is that
of feeling like an alien or outsider - of feeling
isolated, cut-off, abandoned, separate, alone, distant,
and removed from the rest of humanity. There might
be a strong feeling of being different from others,
as though there is something wrong with us. Feeling
like a stranger in a strange land. ”
The other group who have been affected by the eclipses
over the last eighteen months are those with Chiron
in Pisces. That’s you if you were born between
April 1960-Sept 1960 or Feb 1961-May 1968.
“This is a loss of faith
and/or trust in the divine/God/All/oneness/truth.
A deep-seated sense of betrayal, victimization and/or
disenfranchisement by life and/or God/The Universe.
A loss of faith in the power and omnipresence of
love. The fear of being hurt - physically, emotionally,
mentally, and/or spiritually. A core belief in the
injustice and victimizing nature of the universe.
A feeling of being forsaken by God (whoever our God
or gods may be) mirrored in the Christian story of
the Crucifixion.”
Its vital to heal these wounds as they prevent these
groups from giving their gifts to humanity. I strongly
recommend the work of Psychology of Vision. It has worked
for thousands of people. Check out the website www.psychologyofvision.co.uk
Astrology and The body
Aquarius rules the ankles, calves and circulatory system
and its ruler Uranus governs the parathyroid gland,
neural activity and the aura. Only this week science
discovered that stimulating the hypothalamus resulted
in the return of memory. (See The Independent newspaper
on Jan 30th) For a whole series of symbols connected
to the eye and the third eye take a look at this fascinating
site called www.crystalinks.com see link below.
Chakras
In some systems Uranus is said to
rule the pineal or third eye, Neptune to crown chakra.
From 2004-2010 Uranus is in Neptune’s sign and
vice versa so there is a direct link between the third
eye and the crown chakras. Opening the third eye means
opening to telepathic or psychic awareness. This will
bring awareness of the collective. This is not necessarily
an easy experience as with Chiron transiting through
Aquarius from 2006- March 2011 the soul wounds of joining
and belonging to a group have first to be healed.
Time to be The Star
In
the tarot Aquarius is the 17th card called 'The Star'.
It shows a naked woman with a golden central star which
is surrounded by 7 other stars. They represent the
7 visible planets orbiting around the Sun. Aquarius
is the sign most connected with astrology.
According to the book ‘Archetypes on the
Tree of Life’ “The Star is an
apt symbol for the Eternally-abiding Higher Self which
seeks, like the attentive water-bearer, to bring the
personality of the ego into at-one-ment with the flow
of life and nature.”
Chuck Spezzano says
“A Star is one who shines so brightly that all eyes turn to them. The
Star, filled with charisma, is stunning to those around them. Their purpose
in shining is not self-aggrandizement or a form of indulgence, nor is it in
being more special than anyone else. Instead, Stars show what can be accomplished
and how everyone can go beyond their limits using their gifts and talents.
It is time to embrace yourself
as a Star so that you become more of who you came to
be and accomplish more of what you came to accomplish.
Embrace your greatness and give up hiding. Your light
makes the world a better place.”
And from Marianne Williamson “Our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest
fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is
our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same. As we
are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.”
Venus the Star and Dreams
Come True
The five-pointed star is also a symbol for the creative
aspect of humanity and the evolutionary potential of
each individual. The star is Venus, and as the month
begins Venus is joined to Jupiter, the two benefic planets.
Wish upon a Star
Open your mind and heart
to your star-self, your higher identity that guides you
upward on the path of destiny. You may want to go out
in the evening or just before dawn and commune with the
heavens, attuning yourself to the magnificent presence
of a planet- a "wandering
star".
To connect with this eclipse on the evening of February
6th look for Mars which is visible in the night sky.
This is the planet of courage and direct action. Then
before dawn (at 7am in the Uk) Venus and Jupiter will
have risen together in the east. At 7.30am the stellium
of planets in Aquarius will start rising in the east.
Led by Chiron, ending with the North Node this last for
half an hour.
It's a perfect time for a ritual
and a meditation.
Colour, Aura-Soma
and the Energy Rescue Bottles
I
have just returned from my annual training in India and
whilst I was there I used my Aura-Soma tarot cards in
my astrology consultations. India is the land of the
goddess and these cards vibrate with the power of the
feminine and positive energy. They relate to the tarot,
the Kabbalah, numerology, past lives and the Aura-Soma
colour system. Each bottle has a name and a theme. I
ask my clients to pick one card and it greatly enriches
the consultation.
Pluto resonates with the colour called
hidden magenta. It occurs in just 6 of the 106 Aura-Soma
Equilibrium bottles. These are known as the Rescue bottles.
The gifts contained in magenta are the ability to support
someone through crisis, whether that is emotional, physical
or spiritual.
'Your Soul Purpose' Workshop
and Coaching
In the Aura-Soma Colour System
the first bottle choice shows the soul's purpose for
this lifetime. Part of this workshop is a one to one
phone consultation with astrology and Aura-Soma. There
are still places available. The workshop is
on February 9th/10th and is entitled 'Your Soul Purpose
- Remember Your Sacred Promise'.
I have written about the importance of balancing the
masculine and feminine in my newsletter 'Being In Partnership'
available to read at www.yoursoulpurpose.co.uk
For The Workshop see www.healingyourstory.com
If it's your birthday this month
you will have the powerful energy of Jupiter allied
with Pluto available to you for the whole year. Order
