| In our birth charts the two most important planets are the Sun and the Moon. The Sun is our centre, it governs the solar plexus in the body, the Moon is our body ruling over the womb, breasts and chest.
What it means
The Moon represents our emotions and feelings, our Mother, and Gaia, earth as our home. It's where we feel at home, and the sign it's in is how we are when at home with ourself. It's how we relax.
Relationships
The Moon sign is very important when it comes to relationships. You need to know what element it is in. If your Moon sign is in the same or a compatible element to your partner you will feel comfortable with each other.
For example, two fire signs will be on the move, its the couple who are always out doing something - just like the nature of fire they can't keep still. Two earth signs can find great pleasure in eating out, visiting garden centres, chilling out together. Water signs love memories, a so a visit to a place they might have gone to as a child, such as a zoo or toy railway will be wonderful.
Air signs need people, information and stimulation, so this is a social couple. They would love to be up to date with whatever is the latest in movies or the arts.
Cycles
The Moon waxes and wanes and it travels through all the signs of the zodiac in approx 28 and a quarter days. It stays in one sign for approx 2 and a half days. As it does so it softly illumines each planet in our chart in turn.
It reflects the light of the Sun, so is our inner self, the connection to our soul.
On the psychological level the moon represents how we expereienced our mother. Did you have a problem with her? If so it's important on a soul level to understand her. How did she become the person you experienced? What happened to her in her life that wounded her? Our mother represents our feminine side and our relationships so its vital to heal any rifts because only then will your soul journey be complete.
I appreciate that can be a difficult journey and one that takes a lot of courage because I have heard of huge betrayals and wounds in families. |
