The Shamanic ‘overtone’ Venus in Leo
The cycle of Venus is associated with the Sumerian myth of Inanna, the Queen of Heaven who descends into the Underworld to visit her sister Ereskigal.
She is stripped of her power and her vestments at 7 Gates which relate to the 7 chakras, and then killed by her sister. However she is rescued and returns to her throne as Queen of Heaven. In August she disappeared as she descends once more into the Underworld. Venus then joins the Sun on August 13th, and is reborn as the Morning Star on August 19th when it is 10 degrees ahead of the Sun.
When Venus reappears as a Morning Star it’s called ‘the heliacal rise’ and it occurs in just 5 signs of the zodiac in a lifetime.
They are Aries, Scorpio, Gemini, Aquarius/Capricorn and Leo/Virgo.

We have just finished the Shamanic Cycle of Capricorn which began in January 2022. In August 2023 we start a whole new Shamanic ‘overtone’ of Venus in Leo. This last occurred in August 2015 until April 2017.
Venus in Leo Retrograde- Rebirth of the Goddess
- On 5th June Venus moved into Leo and stays in Leo until 9th October.
- It went retrograde on 23rd July at 28 degrees Leo.
- On 6th August Venus disappears from view in the night sky and goes into the underworld.
- On 13th August Venus retrograde joins the Sun at 20 degrees Leo.
- Venus re-emerges as a Morning Star on 19th August when it is 10 degrees ahead of the Sun.
