Aquarius New Moon: Love is in the Air

The Lovers Unite . . .

Valentine’s Day may be over but The Lovers- Venus and Mars -join this week, just a couple of days after the Aquarius New Moon when they both move into the sign of Aries. This is a rare event and made even more significant since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and Mars governs the Solar Plexus, the power centre in our energy system.

Time to identify where we lost our power, and how to restore it.

I offer coaching that transforms past events so you can regain true power and self confidence in your life. It’s time to shine!

Endings and Beginnings

Pisces by Johfra-Bosschart

What an extraordinary New Moon this is! It occurs at the very end of Aquarius- 29 degrees and 59 minutes, then just a few minutes after, both planets change sign into Pisces.

Pisces is the most sensitive of all the signs as it’s ruled by Neptune God of the Ocean.

In the news is a tragic story of the death of over 100 beached pilot whales on New Zealand’s South Island.

“Scientists do not know what causes groups of whales to beach themselves.”

Those volunteers who are trying to save them are demonstrating true compassion, as the work is both physically and emotionally extremely tough.

Tune into the message that these beautiful creatures are sending us.

 Soul Purpose

A clue lies in the fact that most of the trained volunteers are from the community group Project Jonah.

‘Jonah and the Whale’ is a profound bible story that, in the model of Psychology of Vision signifies our Soul Purpose. The 3 days in the belly of the whale symbolises transformation.

As an astrologer I look at the chart of New Zealand. It has Neptune at 9 degrees of Pisces, and both Venus and the South Node at 27 degrees Sagittarius-the Galactic Centre. This is the Sun’s Sun and connects New Zealand to the heart of our galaxy! No wonder they filmed the powerful series of movies that is deeply archetypal ‘Lord of the Rings’ there.

Listen to the Whale Medicine

Pisces is like the whale, swimming along the bottom of the Ocean. In the language of the Medicine wheel it is the keeper of the Akashic records. This is a brilliant description of the energy of Pisces, aka the whale according to Jamie Sams:-

Whale carries the history of Mother Earth and is said to have been placed here by the Ancients from the Dog Star, Sirius.

Whale medicine people are coded in their DNA to understand that sound frequencies can bring up records in the memories of ancient knowledge. They are usually clairaudient, or able to hear both very low and very high frequencies. They are usually also psychically developed and fairly telepathic.

Many times, however, they are not awakened to their gifts until it is time to use the stored records. Many Whale medicine people are able to tap into the universal mind of Great Spirit, and have no idea how or why they know what they know.” From Medicine Cards by Jamie Sams and David Carson

One of the greatest lessons Pisces needs to learn is that of its opposite sign of Virgo- and that’s discrimination. So this month take everything with a pinch of salt, and use your discernment.

At the New Moon Mercury will return to a lunar mansion (called nakshatra) called Shravana.

The symbol is the ear, and the keywords are listening, speaking, teaching. It is ruled by Vishnu, the Keeper of the Cosmos.

If you have a planet between 4 degrees 4 mins-17 degrees 24 Aquarius in the western system, you are a Cosmic Keeper.

This is the star of listening, also called the “Star of Learning”. It is the birth star of Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning.

It is a tradition in India to enter into a relationhip wth a guru (teacher) when you long for spiritual growth. This guru conveys his knowledge verbally.

Listening to the guru is more than just gathering information. The concept is to listen deeply and understand the true meaning behind the words of the guru.

For all of us, take time to meditate and listen as Mercury travels through this part of the sky, from Feb 19th- midnight on March 3rd.

Listen – what does the Cosmos want to tell you?

Blessings,

In Vedic astrology the zodiac is divided into 12 signs and also into 27 lunar mansions called nakshatras which give added depth to understanding your birth chart.

At your birth where the Moon is in your chart is called your ‘birth star’. It begins the 120 year life cycle known as the Vimshottari dasha system. In your life you experience the various planetary periods in turn. By looking at the sign and house position of that planet will show the area of life that most concerns you.

It underpins the transits that are used in both western and Vedic astrology and I use this information in all my astrology consultations for more accurate predictions.
