December 20th New Moon in Sagittarius
The New Moon is in Sagittarius along with 2 other planets including Mercury and Venus. It’s on Saturday December 20th at 1.43am GMT.
This is the last New Moon of the year. It connects us to The Galactic Centre, the heart of the galaxy.

The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter currently in Cancer where it is exalted. It is retrograde but shines brightly and is visible in the night sky. As its retrograde its closer to the earth.

It’s the Visionary that looks to the future with hope, optimism and faith. The New Moon is at 28 degrees Sagittarius and the Moon changes sign into Capricorn at 4.53am. We truly waken on Sunday to a new beginning.
Capricorn is an earth sign, so the Solstice is the perfect time to make our vision a reality. However it is also a time to let go of the past, of all the mistakes, of the wounds that have held us back in the last year.

False beliefs or escapist tendencies may crumble — Saturn demands truth. Now Mercury is direct this the perfect time to revisit your plans, your aspirations and your goals.
- Sun in Sagittarius until December 21st when it moves into Capricorn at 15.03. This is the Winter Solstice and the shortest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. There are just 8 hours of daylight, with 16 hours of darkness. After the Solstice each day gets longer bringing in the light.
- Venus in Sagittarius until December 24th when it moves into Capricorn until January 18th.
- Mercury in Sagittarius as a Morning Star. It moves into Capricorn on January 1st.
- Full Moon January 3rd at 13 degrees Cancer. It is highly auspicious as it will be near Jupiter at 22.54
- Mars into Capricorn where it is exalted on December 15th until January 23rd.
- New Moon December 20th in Sagittarius at 28 degrees.
- Jupiter in Cancer retrograde.
- Saturn is now direct in Pisces. It moves into Aries on February 14th.
- Chiron in Aries goes direct on January 2nd.
- Uranus is now retrograde in Taurus. It goes direct on February 4th.
- Neptune is now direct in Pisces.
- Pluto is now direct in Aquarius for the long haul.

What is so rare is that the Ares point is activated by both Saturn and Neptune forming a rare conjunction on February 20th. This is a major conjunction affecting world events. It last happened in November 1989 in the sign of Capricorn.
The Key Transits in 2026
- Jupiter stays in its exalted sign of Cancer until 1st July when it enters Leo.
- Saturn enters Aries on 13th February.
- Uranus moves direct on 4th February then re-enters Gemini on 27th April.
- Neptune moves into Aries on 27th January where it stays all year.
- Pluto is now firmly in Aquarius all year.
- The nodal axis and the eclipses will move backward into Aquarius and Leo.
