Full Moon in Aquarius- Time for Awakening
The Full Moon in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Uranus. Uranus as the modern ruler is the planet of awakening and individuation. Astrologers cannot predict what Uranus will portend as its orbit is eccentric. Transits of Uranus along with Chiron can be timed to the day. Although the symbol for Aquarius is the Water Bearer it’s a fixed air sign.
The time for action is signified by the exact trine- a flow of energy- from Mars in Virgo to fellow earth sign of Jupiter in Taurus. Practical solutions can now be applied and focus on using the benefic energy of Jupiter-King of the Gods to achieve your goals. Aim high!
This month sees most planets – apart from the Sun, Moon, Mars being retrograde. Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo, a sign where its exalted on August 23rd. Uranus goes retrograde on 29th. Then on September 5th Jupiter will go retrograde in Taurus. Pam explains what this means in the video above.
The most important event that has just happened is that the nodes have changed sign last month on July 13th. The nodes aren’t planets but indicate where eclipses take place. They have moved from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra as they go backwards through the zodiac. They relate to eclipses and stay in these signs for the next 18 months. Relationships are now in focus and finding the balance between peace loving Libra and fiery Aries.

Mercury in Virgo is opposite Saturn in Pisces
Have you been suffering from feeling overwhelmed? That the world is conspiring against you? As if you’re driving a car with the brakes on?
Mars has been in opposition to Saturn. This can result in delays, procrastination and the feeling that nothing is good enough. Virgo is known to be the perfectionist in the zodiac. However its also very good at detail. The exact opposition was on July 20th. This has eased on July 28th. Hurrah! However Mercury now takes its place for the next few days.
Saturn-Lord of Karma – entered Pisces on March 7th for the next two and a half years. This ended two and a half years of Saturn in Aquarius so comes as a welcome relief for all Aquarians and the other fixed signs of Leo and Scorpio. Water signs will now benefit as will the earth signs. It went retrograde on June 18th at the last New Moon in Gemini. It goes direct on November 4th.
Saturn gets a bad press as its nature is heavy representing gravity and reality. To work with Saturn is the key. In the Vedic system the remedy for Saturn is being of service and supporting charities through our direct involvement. Saturn rules time, so once we give of our time and effort we can reap the reward. It is also Mastery as the effort we put in makes us a master. Completion is the key.
The Sun is in Leo along with Venus Retrograde
Both the Sun and Venus are in Leo, the Archetype of the King/Queen. So we have a double dose of Leo energy. Venus is currently in transition from being an Evening Star to a Morning Star. It entered Leo on June 5th. It is slowly disappearing below the horizon. One key date is on August 13th when Venus joins the Sun in what is called the Sacred Marriage.
Jupiter moved into Taurus on May 16th
Jupiter the greater benefic is now direct and it moved into Taurus for an entire year on May 16th until May 26th 2024. This is wonderful news for Taurus and Scorpio. Jupiter is the planet of faith, faith in life, that life is worth living. It takes 12 years to go around the zodiac, so look back 12 years to understand its influence in your chart. It is the biggest planet in our solar system and Jupiter is Zeus, King of the Gods. It brings good luck, expansiveness and the feel good factor. It truly is the planet of abundance, especially now its in the earth sign of Taurus.
Taurus is an earth sign ruled by Venus, and it promotes all activities connected to the earth such as gardening, music, farming, art, material wealth and all good things on the physical plane. It promotes cleaning and using Marie Kondo’s methods of letting go of anything that doesn’t bring you joy. Taurus is also compatible with the emotional water signs of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. Fellow earth signs Virgo and Capricorn also benefit from Jupiter’s gaze.

Chiron in Aries- the archetype of the Wounded Healer – is activated at this New Moon in Cancer as it forms a trine a flow of energy to Mercury in Leo.

- August 1st Full Moon in Aquarius
- August 13th Venus retrograde joins the Sun in Leo.
- August 16th New Moon in Leo
- August 23rd Sun into Virgo.
- August 23rd Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo where it is exalted until October 5th. It goes direct on September 16th. On October 5th it changes sign into Libra.
- August 31st Full Moon in Pisces
Uranus in Taurus is now direct activating 18 degrees Taurus. Make some practical changes in your life and throw out anything that doesn’t bring you joy! (It went direct on January 22nd.)
Neptune The Dreamer is now retrograde. In Pisces it favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. We now have an opportunity to bring our dreams into manifestation. Trust your intuition.
One key word for Neptune is compassion. However it can also indicate illusion, deceit, scandal, loss, drowning, a feeling of being overwhelmed and lost. If you’ve been feeling exhausted, depressed, over-burdened and with little energy then I recommend taking time out and being kind to yourself. Take comfort and know that “this too will pass”.
Bach Flower remedies such as Elm, Sweet Chestnut and Oak may be helpful. Also for shock Rock Rose or Rescue Remedy.
Pluto is now retrograde and moved back into Capricorn on June 11th. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38. It moved into Aquarius briefly on March 23rd until June 11th 2023. However it only transits 0 degrees 22 mins Aquarius so not a major transit.
