Mercury in Aquarius-daring to break the rules!
There are 2 themes this week. The first is the shift of Venus into the highly empathic sign of Pisces, emphasising the compassion that is needed in the world at this time.
The next is that Mercury retrograde in Aquarius is now in full swing. Aquarius is a sign it’s at home in, as it’s ruled by Uranus, the planet of invention and innovation and the Higher Mind.
Aquarians tend to disobey the rules of convention. Without their planet Uranus we’d be stuck in the status quo, the old ways. Uranus is invention, it urges us to evolve and and raise our vibration.
On Wednesday January 28th it makes an excellent aspect to Uranus in Aries which is also conjunct the south Node.
This is a pivotal time in history and the energy of transformation and chaos may have entered your life.
This is especially true if you have a planet at 13 degrees Capricorn or Aries.
Rather than resist and be like the ostrich, its time to face the Gods and understand what is being asked of you.
This is a day when we can be inspired, we can connect to our genius. Mercury makes this aspect to Uranus 3 times, on Jan 14th, Jan 28th then finally on March 1st.
Ask questions and allow the Universe to answer.
Watch the messages you receive- through the post, through emails and through conversations you engage in or overhear. This is a day to connect with the tao, the process. Notice the news-it reflects your inner world and can be of immense value. Facebook can act in a similar fashion. Are you attracted to a certain news story? What pulls on your heart? What injustice do you feel called to fight for?
The Hermetic principle that astrologers are guided by is ‘as above so below as without so within’.
With the power of your mind recognise your shadow, and bless those who need your compassion.
On Friday Mercury joins the Sun at 13.45pm GMT. This is a day to meditate, to journal and observe. This not the best day to make life changing decisions because Mercury- which governs intellect -is so close to the Sun it is burnt by its rays.
Mercury will then fall back behind the Sun. Metaphorically it’s in the Underworld.
Mercury retrograde gets a bad press, but it can offer us a shift in perspective.
Mercury goes retrograde 3 times a year and is well known as a bad time with many problems with communications.
Beforehand we are advised to back up our computers and delay buying a new phone/computer, or signing contracts until Mercury moves direct again.
However not all Mercury retrograde periods are the same.
This first retrograde cycle of the year can trigger the birth of new exciting projects that can be brought into manifestation. It links to Uranus, planet of originality and Saturn, the energy to ground our ideas.
