Blowing Your Own Trumpet

This week’s new Moon at the final degrees of Gemini has made me reflect about the message of this New Moon, and how important are the qualities of speaking, thinking and listening.

Listening to the news yesterday I heard some great stories. This news reflects the energy of this New Moon.

What did you hear?

What messages does the Universe want to give you for the next month?

I would like you to consider something that is strange in the UK- and that is to blow your own trumpet, and to focus on your strengths.

Gemini- The Messenger

Gemini is known as the sign of the Butterfly- quick, light and witty and governed by Mercury the Messenger of the Gods. Its also the sign of the angels, the messengers of God.

This week saw a famous Gemini woman and true leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, visiting the UK and celebrating her birthday. This Nobel prize winner is no lightweight. Neither were other equally famous Geminis- Queen Victoria, John F Kennedy or Jean Paul Sartre.

Also a Gemini, Antonis Samaras, the new leader of Greece’s main conservative party New Democracy, is seen by supporters as ‘a man who sticks to his guns’.

Our Sun Sign and the Power of Saturn

The Sun is just one symbol in a birth chart, albeit a very important one. The Sun sign is our essence, our spirit and the sign shows how we shine, our leadership qualities and the way we direct our life.

However Saturn is the planet that bestows gravitas, duty and discipline and these famous people have very prominent connections with that energy in their birth charts.

The power of Saturn to influence has never been so obvious this month as we celebrated the Diamond Jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth II (Sun sign Taurus) is a fine example of a person with Saturn at the pinnacle of her birth chart. From a very young age she has been someone who does her duty, no matter what. And the Brits –no matter if they are anti Royalists- respect and greatly admire her for that quality.

Good News: Saturn moves direct June 25th

I talk of Saturn because on June 25th it finally moves direct in the heavens. It’s been retrograde since February 8th. When Saturn is retrograde it requires that we re-evaluate, review, revise and re-assess our plans, our foundations and our structure.

Now is the right time- and Saturn is the ruler of time- to put those plans into action.

That for you may mean moving house, signing up for a course of study, getting engaged, or committing to anything that you believe in long term.

Knowing how Saturn operates in your chart is vital for self knowledge. Take a look at my best selling report Karmic Insight – Your Soul’s Intentions  It has rave reviews because it is concise and very accurate!

Commitment brings freedom because all the indecision has gone.

Saturn in the sign of Libra just loves commitment, especially to partnerships and collaborations.

This month I signed up to join a Community of Inspired Entrepreneurs run by a great friend of mine called Nick Williams and his business partner Niki Hignett.

Last week Nick talked about resistance- the negative side of Saturn. This is the ego’s attack on us to stay stuck.

The ego doesn’t like change because it fears the future-which is a fear of the unknown. But change we must. And this year is the beginning of a long cycle of inevitable change.

Astrologers know this because of the square of Uranus and Pluto, which is exact on June 24th. It repeats 7 times, so we truly are in a cycle of massive upheaval of our institutions, banking systems and sorting out our debt. (Debt is psychologically to do with guilt.)

They were last conjunct (ie. together ) in the sign of Virgo in the 60ties- the decade of Revolution.

We have moved on from then and we are now in the cycle of Evolution.

Caroline Myss in her best- selling book ‘Anatomy of the Spirit’ describes people who are evolved as having internal self- esteem. People like Ghandi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela.

I would suggest that they conquered their demons and their fears.

This excerpt from her book describes the process of reclaiming person power:-

“Challenges of the Journey
There is nothing simple about developing self-understanding, independence, and self-respect.
The third chakra is filled with the energy of our personal ambitions, our sense of responsibility and our respect for our strengths and weaknesses as well as our fears and secrets that we are not yet ready to face.

Because we are often riven with personal conflicts, we meet the spiritual challenge to “becoming empty in order to be made full,” to die to old habits and self-images in order to be reborn, with great trepidation.

Yet the path to developing independence and maturity is far more than a psychological act of health. Becoming adept at the internal process of self-inquiry and symbolic insight is a vital spiritual task that leads to the growth and faith in oneself.”

Personal Power- Focus upon your Strengths

Personal power comes from the Sun which governs the third chakra, our physical and energetic centre. At at the Summer Solstice we are being asked to change direction, and to take command of our destiny.

Apollo
Apollo the Sun God- Focus on Your Strengths

I’d like you to invoke the power of Apollo, the Sun God. He is the god of music, poetry, oracles, medicine and healing, light, truth and knowledge. The son of Zeus, the King of the Gods, he is the twin brother of Artemis, giving him a Gemini quality!

Apollo was an oracular god as he was the prophetic deity of the Delphic Oracle. An oracle that I recently became inspired by is Doreen Virtue’s ‘Ascended Masters’.

The card for Apollo is totally relevant for this month. His message is clear. Focus upon your Strengths.

The more you appreciate your talents, your skills, your gifts, the more they will grow.

So blow your own trumpet-  because if you don’t who else will?

blessings for a great month,

Pam x
