New Moon in Cancer activates Saturn
This New Moon in Cancer is the first new moon that ends the Eclipse season we’ve been enduring since the Summer Solstice. Eclipses create turmoil and chaos as the Sun or the Moon is temporarily obscured. We are in the dark.
As I’ve written before, Cancer is a sign ruled by the Moon, so this time of year is often emotional, with memories from the past surfacing. Added to this Mercury is moving forward but still in the sign of Cancer. Mercury connects with young people and the lock down has been having a negative effect with children having to stay home, so both mothers (Moon) and students (Mercury) are still under a great deal of stress.
This will ease once the Sun enters Leo on July 22nd.
Saturn Lord of Karma
Saturn is strong in its sign of Capricorn asking us all to face up to reality and being responsible adults. Saturn is the planet of endings- ie. death and it appears there are many people who refuse to believe that the pandemic is real.
I believe that the most dangerous messages that President Donald Trump has been propagating is that all news is ‘fake news’. The ignorance of people in certain states in the US is deeply disturbing. I pray that he is removed from office in November.
I worked on a national broadsheet newspaper back in 1989-1992. It was a well respected profession, a newspaper of integrity (Unlike the tabloids), so this is dear to my heart.
Saturn gets a lot of negative press, however it also connects us to Mastery. When we practice our craft we become the master. It takes time, discipline and we need to pass the tests. It is also the planet that represents commitment. This quote is well worth focusing on in the month ahead.

Neptune and Covid-19
Neptune has been travelling through Pisces since April 2011 is ruled by the gas giant, Neptune, God of the Ocean, the Sea of Consciousness. We can float or drown in the ocean, and as every sailor knows, it has tremendous power. The the Covid-19 virus is symbolic in the collective of deep emotion, loss and grief. Now is the time to engage with prayer, to connect with Source, the Divine which is the highest vibration of Pisces.
Key Dates
Sun in Cancer Moves into Leo on 22nd July at 9.37am BST. Lammas is celebrated when the Sun is at 15 degrees Leo on 7th August at 2.06 BST.
Full Moon 11 degrees Aquarius on 3rd August at 16.59 BST.
Mercury is now direct in Cancer an emotional sign ruled by the Moon. It changes sign into Leo on 5th August at 4.32am BST.
Venus is in Gemini until 7th August at 16.21 BST.
Mars is in the fire sign of Aries the sign it rules – on June 28th. Mars goes retrograde on September 10th, so will be spending over 5 months in Aries. All systems now have the go ahead.
Jupiter is in Capricorn until 20th December. Think how the mountain goat is so agile as it climbs up and you get the idea. It went retrograde on 15th May until 13th September. This period is a time of review, to focus on getting systems and projects working to your advantage.
Saturn re-entered Capricorn on July 2nd. It went retrograde on 11th May. It stays in Capricorn until 17th December 2020.
Uranus in Taurus is now direct until 16th August activating 5-10 degrees Taurus. Make some practical changes in your life and throw out anything that doesn’t bring you joy! There is a favorable connection (a minor aspect called a semi-sextile) with Chiron the archetype of the Wounded Healer.
Neptune in Pisces favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. I love the meditations with Deepak Chopra as he uses simple sanskrit mantras. See Chopra Center Meditation. Neptune went retrograde on June 23rd.
Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38.
